Curacao (AP)—Bobby Fischer, Brooklyn teen-ager, was no match for Victor Korchnoi of Russia Thursday night and resigned on the 33rd move of the international chess tournament's fifth round.
This was the third loss for the 19-year-old Fischer, who seemed resigned to defeat as early as the 13th move. Korchnoi was three pawns ahead at the time of Fischer's resignation.
U.S. grandmaster Paul Benko of New York adjourned his game with Tigran Petrosian after 41 moves. Their material was even.
Mikhail Tal of Russia, former world champion, turned back Miroslav Filip of Czechoslovakia in 34 moves. Paul Keres and Ewfim Geller, both of Russia, drew after 27 moves.
