Keres and Geller in New Tie For First Place in Chess
Willemstad, Curacao. June 7 — Paul Keres and Ewfim Geller, both of the Soviet Union, are running neck and neck for the lead in the Candidates' Chess Tournament here. Keres caught up with Geller yesterday by winning his seventeenth-round adjourned game from his countryman, Victor Korchnoi. Korchnoi resigned without resuming play.
Two other adjourned games were concluded without resumption of play. Bobby Fischer of the United States scored his seventeenth-round game against Dr. Miroslav Filip of Czechoslovakia, while Korchnoi and Pal Benko of the United States drew their eighteenth-round game.
