New York — Fridrik Olafsson of Iceland was pitted against Bobby Fischer of New York in the 15th round of the World Interzonal Chess Tournament in Stockholm yesterday, but failed to stop the former United States champion in his determined bid for first prize. With a score of 12-2, Fischer is well ahead of the field.
Wolfgang Uhlmann of East Germany, 10-4, is in second place; and Ewfim Geller of the Soviet Union, third place with 9½ to 3½.
