New Yorker 6th Player To Gain Challengers Event
Pal Benko of New York, a United States grand master, gained 2½ points in a six-game play-off of the interzonal chess tournament in Stockholm this week, and became the sixth player to qualify for the world challengers tournament, according to Tass, the official Soviet press agency.

Only three players from any one chess federation are allowed to compete.
