3 Soviet Masters Tie For Chess Lead
Willemstad, CuraƧao, June 4—Ewfim Geller and Tigran Petrosian, both of the Soviet Union, have moved into a tie for the lead in the Candidates' Chess Tournament with their countryman, Paul Keres.
Geller first defeated Victor Korchnoi of the Soviet Union in their adjourned fifteenth-round game in fifty-eight moves. Then he drew his adjourned sixteenth-round game with Bobby Fischer of the United States after forty-five moves.
Petrosian drew his adjourned fifteenth-round game with Mikhail Tal of the Soviet Union in fifty moves and then defeated Korchnoi in their adjourned sixteenth-round game in seventy moves.
Pal Benko of the United States and Fischer drew their adjourned fifteenth-round game after fifty-six moves.
