Official Recognition of “Bobby Fischer Day”

Back to the Untold Story of Bobby Fischer Index

+ YOU + responded. That one post reaped a total of 27,000 supportive reactions. In the spring of 2019, FIDE - International Chess Federation proved once and for all, it had heard the people: + YOU +
FIDE gave Bobby some of the respect he was long overdue making FISCHER-RANDOM an official tournament. I believe WE can do it again. Tell FIDE we want an officially recognized BOBBY FISCHER DAY. This page about Bobby Fischer, was set up in early 2018 to solely focus on the continuing the effort of educating the public not only about Bobby Fischer's chess history from newspapers, but giving proper refutations to the deceptions of dangerous organized cults, including Nazis and their odious fascist allies, exposing the causes and logical fallacies of Antisemitism… re-examining the original documents of history, et cetera.

All of us, here, and bringing to light Bobby Fischer's TRUE history (the many years of abusive cult manipulation) our cult survivor testimonies, and those of you who have been supportive, together, we collectively accomplished the necessary pressure applied on FIDE - International Chess Federation to officially recognize FischerRandom chess tournament. Alas, before I leave the world, I would like to see this man's suggestion of a tournament in the name of "Bobby Fischer" fulfilled, and/or a "Bobby Fischer Day" for chess around the world in commemoration of Mr. Fischer. That will bring me much happiness! It only takes a moment to “Like” and share: An equally delightful idea… an internationally celebrated “Bobby Fischer Day” [September 22, 1972], if such a thing does not already exist, such as Paul Morphy, designated on June 22 as “Paul Morphy Day”. Such a commemoration for the great Bobby Fischer exists, or no?

I like the concept of both… many tournaments organized in every country, worldwide, on “Bobby Fischer Day”.

Bobby Fischer is my lifeline to discover what happened to destroy my life, his life, and thousands of others in the Armstrong cult (1970's, 80's and 1990's). I am on a fact-finding scavenger hunt for details about my church brother's life in old newspapers from the Ancestry and NYTimes archives. 10,000's of old newspaper articles which provide a very different narrative versus the version modern Chess establishment journalists who know relatively nothing about the Armstrong cult or Bobby Fischer's true personal history and have mislead tens of thousands of chess enthusiasts through their publications.

'til the world understands why Robert J. Fischer criticised the U.S./British and Russian military industry imperial alliance and their own Israeli Apartheid. Sarah Wilkinson explains:

Bobby Fischer, First Amendment, Freedom of Speech
What a sad story Fischer was,” typed a racist, pro-imperialist colonial troll who supports mega-corporation entities over human rights, police state policies & white supremacy.
To which I replied: “Really? I think he [Bob Fischer] stood up to the broken system of corruption and raised awareness! Whether on the Palestinian/Israel-British-U.S. Imperial Apartheid scam, the Bush wars of ‘7 countries in 5 years,’ illegally, unconstitutionally which constituted mass xenocide or his run in with police brutality in Pasadena, California-- right here in the U.S., police run rampant over the Constitution of the U.S., on oath they swore to uphold, but when Americans don't know the law, and the cops either don't know or worse, “don't care” -- then I think that's pretty darn “sad”. I think Mr. Fischer held out and fought the good fight, steadfast til the day he died, and may he Rest In Peace.
Educate yourself about U.S./State Laws --

After which the troll posted a string of profanities, confirming there was never any genuine sentiment of “compassion” for Mr. Fischer, rather an intent to inflict further defamatory remarks.

This ongoing work is a tribute to the life and accomplishments of Robert “Bobby” Fischer who passionately loved and studied chess history. May his life continue to inspire many other future generations of chess enthusiasts and kibitzers, alike.

The photograph of Bobby Fischer (above) from the March 02, 1956 The Tampa Times was discovered by Sharon Mooney (Bobby Fischer Newspaper Archive editor) on February 01, 2018 while gathering research materials for this ongoing newspaper archive project. Along with lost games now being translated into Algebraic notation and extractions from over two centuries of newspapers, it is but one of the many lost treasures to be found in the pages of old newspapers since our social media presence was first established November 11, 2017.
