Back to the Untold Story of Bobby Fischer Index
“Kasparov makes a bad book even worse and wastes many pages trying to prove that Karpov would have defeated Fischer if they had played a match in 1975. That is impossible as Karpov is hopelessly weak against attacks by knights. That is why he persistently lost to Kasparov and why Fischer would have won.” —Schroeder
U.S. Chess Federation's Ed Edmondson and FIDE's Florencio Campomanes report in 1975 on Soviet intimidation, manipulation and harassment of delegates to gain votes against Fischer's proposals. After stealing the title through deceptive means, the Soviet proceed to pull more of the same cowardly “propaganda ploys”
Read those 1975 Newspaper reports…
The Soviets showed the world the “title” is all a matter of subjective opinion since cheating, manipulation, scamming, intimidation is good enough for Soviets to snatch and steal the title…
anything goes, correct?
The title does not have to be earned on merit or a fair match. Just ask the paper champion, Anatoly Karpov…

P.C. Addie comments in “Chess.” “If the Fischer-Karpov match comes about, I think Fischer will win because (1) Nobody knows what openings he will use. (Was that not Spassky's downfall in 1972?) (2) Fischer is an expert at finding weaknesses in his opponent's play. (3) Karpov is not very strong physically (he admits this himself). (4) Nobody has found any weaknesses in Fischer's play. Prediction: Karpov will get an early lead but in the last half of the match Karpov will be a lamb for the slaughter, Fischer will win by 10-4.”
Ironic the paper champion Karpov criticized Bobby Fischer for not playing in professional competitions, when after all, the totalitarian Soviet Imperialism Chess Federation, REFUSED TO ALLOW SPASSKY to travel for a rematch.
The following excerpt was authored by a Soviet, and touches on the false claim Fischer would never become world champion, supposedly due to fearing loss (which Kasparov would later try to promote) is summarized: “This same strange delusion led to Taimanov's undoing as he went to their match under the impression that Fischer was suffering from ‘an inferiority complex.’ … Any further conclusions about Fischer's ‘fear of losing’ are baseless.” (The Argus Fremont, California Sunday, July 25, 1971, “New Slant On Fischer”. ★)
They tried to mischaracterize Bobby Fischer as “paranoid schizophrenic” but Mr. Spassky remembers the real Bobby Fischer…

Mikhail Botvinnik describes major indicators of Autism Spectrum, January 9, 1969, specifically, “Intellectual Developmental” of a 14 or 15 year old.
Arthur Feuerstein, who knew Fischer since his high school days makes the same observations in an interview from July 17, 1972:
“I believe Fischer never developed a personality beyond the level of a 15-year-old… He added Fischer was always bothered by noises when playing chess and once even asked for the removal of the audience…”
Larry Evans and Chess Expert-Psychologist Reuben Fine Describe Garden Variety “Cold War Paranoia”, June 12, 1976 which was very common on both sides, the United States and USSR. “Cold War Paranoia” is not a form of “mental illness” but rather is in reaction to political propaganda.

“…Fischer, 21, who has a reputation as a temperamental player, gave evidence of nervousness only while pictures were being taken.”

Speculative “diagnoses” of Bobby Fischer overlook complexity of his whole life. Experts admit: “…topics related to cult involvement, something that the mental health field tends to know little about…” - Psychology Today
The Barry Goldwater vs. *Ralph Ginzburg Rule
“Section 7.3 of the code of ethics of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) cautions psychiatrists against making public statements about public figures whom they have not formally evaluated … The ethic is that diagnostic terminology and theory should not be used for speculative or ad hominem attacks that promote the interests of the individual physician or for political and ideological causes.” - Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law Online
* Ralph Ginzburg, whom American Psychological Association changed standards of ethics following his targeted defamation of Presidential Candidate Barry Goldwater also targeted Bobby Fischer for vicious campaign of slander in 1962.

and since Goldwater went on to politician in favor of Homosexuals rights, Ralph Ginzburg certainly wasn't working for the benefit of the gay community… in fact, Ginzburg's propaganda against Goldwater consisted of lumping “homosexuality” and “insanity” together in the same bag.
Perhaps women's rights? No. To Ginzburg, women were objects to exploit for personal profit.

Soviet, U.S. Teams Draw 1st Round of Chess Olympics
“…Reshevsky's request for a few hours delay in the start of his game against World Champion Botvinnik last Saturday was denied and Bill Lombardy, world junior champion defended the first board. … IT IS INTERESTING to perceive how Reshevsky's request for a short delay was declined for in the past the Grand Master's strict adherence to orthodox religious rituals not to play on the Sabbath has been honored.
He has had frequent difficulty when playing in tournaments abroad to comply with the dietary restrictions of his faith and has had to subsist on hard-boiled eggs and herring.
We cannot believe that Botvinnik would be so lacking in magnanimity and attribute the protest to the Soviet team managers. Although their opposition was the formidable Russian team, the Americans took the disappointment with good grace. What a fuss the USSR would have made of the adverse ruling were they the offended party!” ★
How did the chess gossip outlets get all their tall tales about Robert J. Fischer, by 1980… 1990… 2000… 2010 and beyond?! Rubbish about R.J.F.! Strange that Kazic doesn't mention all those reasons! instead, mainly, it's over the worship of the sabbath day! Kazic alludes to chess organizers' ANTISEMITIC discrimination against the Jewish (Saturday) Sabbath!
The Province Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Friday, May 07, 1971 ★
“…Kazic, writing in Chess Life and Review, said after the Majorca tournament which determined the quarter-finalists last year:
‘Fischer is a unique figure in the history of chess, the most talented player American has produced since Paul Morphy. He is described as the genius the like of which appear but once in a century. But at the same time he is the most controversial figure of contemporary chess.’
The remarks about controversy surrounding Fischer are based on the strict restrictions the 27-year-old American insists on for his matches. Among these are that competitions end at sundown Fridays and not resume until sundown Saturdays, based on religious reasons.....................”
The Daily Oklahoman Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Sunday, November 23, 1958
“…No. 1 seeded player Samuel Reshevsky of New York, is an Orthodox Jew and was lost for eight days—Jewish Rosh Hashannah, Yom Kippur and the weekly sabbath.
… Other teams also refused to honor the late hours play agreement for Reshevsky. ‘They said they were tired of the ‘Reshevsky problem’.” ★
So, with any possible underlying motive for sake of actual human rights out of the way, then what could possibly be at stake, the common denominator between Barry Goldwater and Bobby Fischer that motivated Ralph Ginzburg's slander? THE MUTUALLY STRONG DISTASTE FOR SOVIET IMPERIALISM and its casual, reckless indifference who the U.S.S.R. crushed beneath their iron heel.
“…After 13 hours of deliberation a jury of nine men and three women decided Goldwater had been subjected to deliberate CHARACTER ASSASSINATION…now defunct publication devoted to ‘The Mind of Barry Goldwater,’”
Familiar? It should be. Identical M.O. against Bobby Fischer,
“When I began playing chess the Russians were heroes and they still are as chess players. I use to study all their literature. Most of the first books I read were Russian chess books. The first time the Russians ever mentioned me, when I was 13, ‘he's a very fine, talented young player but all this publicity he's getting is sure to do damage to his character.’ Sure enough, from then on they started attacking my CHARACTER.”

Libel Case Will Inhibit Election, Ginzburg Says (Was that not Ginzburg's intention?!)
“He is one of the greatest players who ever lived,” said Lisa Lane, the new American woman champion, after Bobby beat Arthur Bisguier to wind up the tournament. “He ranks with people like Alekhine now, and if he keeps on the way he has been developing there will be nobody in a class with him.” — Sports Illustrated, January 23, 1961 and the photo session took place in New York, NY March 7-9, 1961. Bobby Fischer and Lisa Lane were on good, friendly terms.
But meddling Ralph Ginzburg, (a convicted felon, sued by Barry Goldwater for defamation, successfully) — legal recognition of blatant defamation was to such an abusive extreme, the American psychological association changed standards of ethics guidelines over the Goldwater-Ginzburg fiasco — to forbid psychiatric professionals from giving ‘public diagnoses’ of celebrities without personal consultation and consent.)
Ralph Ginzburg would try to mislead the public to believe Fischer had a strong contempt for Lisa Lane, as well as his own mother! Insinuations and misquotations, which Bobby Fischer adamantly denied on many occasions. Ginzburg and his associates were linked to “Anti-American activities” which equates to “Soviet sponsored propaganda”.

And then sure enough, from then on, they began attacking my character.”

The Soviets, like Fascists, knew by appealing to people's biases to rabble rouse bitterness and resentments — publishing a deceptive, inflammatory article in the January 1962 Harper's Magazine against Bobby Fischer would keep Fischer too busy defending himself to focus on defeating the Soviets in chess. The Soviets specialized in Psychological Warfare, and demoralizing the opposition.
