Korchnoi Beaten By Benko In Chess
Willemstad, CuraƧao, June 22—All adjourned games were finished tonight in the Candidates Chess Tournament. Pal Benko of the United States defeated Victor Korchnoi of the Soviet Union in their twenty-fifth-round game when Korchnoi played into a losing queen and pawn ending.
Korchnoi, however, drew with Bobby Fischer of the United States in their twenty-sixth-round game in forty-one moves in a position in which the American was thought to have a slight pull.
Dr. Miroslav Filip of Czechoslovakia and Ewfim Geller of the Soviet Union drew their twenty-fifth-round game in fifty-six moves. Geller set up a resourceful defense.
