Fischer Loses and Draws in Curacao Chess Games
Willemstad, Curaçao, May 19—Two adjourned games — from the ninth and tenth rounds of the Curaçao Candidates' Chess Tournament—were completed yesterday.
Bobby Fischer of the United States lost the first to Ewfim Geller of the Soviet Union in sixty-nine moves. His last move prior to adjournment was an error, which eventually cost a rook.
Dr. Miroslav Filip of Czechoslovakia drew the other game against Fischer in forty-four moves. Here again, Fischer erred on the move before adjournment, which ruined a likely win.
