Chess Hassle
A Moscow, U.S.S.R., newspaper accused Bobby Fischer, 19-year-old U.S. chess grandmaster, of “slander” for charging the Russians used collusive tactics in a tournament in Curacao. Fischer finished fourth in the tournament, held to establish a challenger to meet Mikhail Botvinnik of Russia for the world's title. A Russian won the tournament.
