Starting next week, the eyes of the chess world will be focused on the island of Curacao in the Dutch West Indies, where the long and grueling challengers' tournament will get under way. This tournament will determine the individual who will face Mikhail Botvinnik for the world's championship next year.

Pal Benko, one time Hungarian champion is the other United States entry.
