“At the present time, the Interzonal Tournament is being held in Stockholm, Sweden, with 23 of the world's top players competing. Top six will be eligible to play in the May-June Challengers Tourney, along with Tahl and Keres, to see who will play Mikhail Botvinnik for his world title.
It is often difficult to tell who is leading at any given time in a round-robin tournament because of adjourned games, byes, etc. However, at the end of the eleventh round Bobby Fischer has finished eight games with the remarkable score of 6½-1½. He has at least one adjourned game which is a clear-cut win; so I would say that he is leading the field at the halfway mark.
W. Uhlmann of East Germany has 7½-3½; Dr. M. Filip of Czechoslovakia has 7-3; T. Petrosian of Russia has 6½-3½ and P. Benko of U.S.A. has 6½-4½.
Also in the tourney are L. Stein, E. Geller, V. Korchnoi, L. Portisch, G. Barcza, A. Pomar, A. Bisguier, S. Gligoric, A. Yanofsky, J. Bolbochan, M. Bertok, R. Teschner, M. Aaron, I. Bilek, S. Schweber, E. German and M. Cueller.
